SOUP AND BUN LUNCH FOR SHARE LENT


Tickets for this annual luncheon will be available after all Masses on the week-
ends of March 3 rd , 10 th and 17 th . There is no cost for the tickets but donations will be gratefully accepted. Please come out and enjoy a simple meal in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in the Global South.

WORKSHOP & MANDATING CEREMONY FOR OUR MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

We invite all our Cathedral Ministers of the Eucharist to a workshop to be held in the Cathedral Auditorium on Saturday, March 30th from 9:00am until noon. 
Take this opportunity to learn more about your ministry and to reconnect with your fellow lay ministers.

A mandating ceremony will take place at the 5:00pm Mass on the same day.

Wanted:  your gifts and talents for Ministry!!
Here at the Cathedral we have vacancies in all our lay ministry positions for each of the weekend Masses.  If you feel called to read; to distribute Holy Communion, to serve at Mass, to welcome visitors to our Church, to sing or to minister in any other way, please do call the Parish office and share your gifts with your Parish Community.  Training will be provided.

This year`s course for all who are about to marry this year will be held in the Cathedral Auditorium.

MEN`S APRIL BREAKFAST AND TALK

Msgr. Stilla will speak on the topic:
‘In the Church, Challenges are Opportunities, and not Problems’
at the Columbus Centre.

April 28 at 1:00 pm
‘BLUE MASS’ OF THANKSGIVING

Our first ‘Blue Mass’ will be celebrated on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 1:00pm to show support and in thanksgiving of  the men and women of Thunder Bay’s First Responders.  Members of the Thunder Bay Police Services, O.P.P., R.C.M.P., Anishinabek Police Services, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and Superior North Emergency Medical Services will all participate.
A reception will follow in the Cathedral Auditorium.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!

FREE BIBLE COURSE – SERIES #9

Continuing from last fall’s course, Msgr. Pat Stilla will present the eighth in our series of free Bible courses on 3 consecutive Thursdays, May 2, 9 & 16, 2019 at 7:00pm at the Catholic Pastoral Centre.
These sessions are designed to help us better understand and appreciate our Catholic faith through our understanding of the Bible.
May 2:   “The Road to Calvary: The Bible’s Guide to Christian Living”;
May 9:   “Why There are So Many Marriage Metaphors in the Bible?”;
May 16:  “He is Alive! The Appearances of the Risen Christ in the Gospels”.
Everyone welcome, whether or not you’ve attended previous courses!

PARISH NEWS

1. FIRST COMMUNION CLASSES

Classes are held during the 10:30 am Mass in the Cathedral Auditorium
Class Dates: March 3rd, 17th, 24th and 31st, April 7th, 14th and 28th.
No Classes on: March 10th and April 21st.

For more information, a letter will be sent to the families of the children by the teachers, Pam & Mara.

Parents Meeting/Rehearsal: Wednesday., May 1st at 6 pm

First Confession will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the Cathedral

First Communion will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 10:30 am in the Cathedral
