R.C.I.A. Celebrations’ Mass
Since the Sacraments of Initiation, which are normally celebrated during the Easter Vigil were postponed this year due to the pandemic, those who were part of last year’s R.C.I.A. Process will be formally initiated into the Faith next month. These celebrations will take place in the Cathedral on Saturday, October 3, 2020, during the 5:00 pm Mass. During the Mass, one adult will be baptized two others will be formally received into the Catholic Church. All three will then be Confirmed and receive the Eucharist for the first time during the same Mass. In their final preparation stage, they will be participating in a “Third Scrutinies” ceremony, two study conferences and a mini-retreat.

Our First Communion Mass
We are happy to announce to the children of this year’s First Communion class, and to their parents and friends, that our date for First Communion has been set! Our celebration will take place on Sunday, October 18th at a special Mass celebrated at 1:00 pm. To ensure physical distancing requirements, the children are asked to sit together with their own families at Mass instead of as a class and, to receive Communion with their families instead of as a group. Beautiful individual gifts, hand-made by Pam Brusadin and Theresa Matijasic will be distributed to them on their special day and the crowning of the statue of Mary at the beginning of the ceremony will also take place as usual. However, due to the pandemic precautions, First Confessions have been postponed to a later date.
